Green Mile

Time takes it all, whether you want it or not.
Time takes it all, time beats it away.
And in the end there is only darkness.
Sometimes we find others in that darkness,
And sometimes we lose them there again.

Pretty cool lyrics heh..??

I have this thing about durian that I couldn't stand. If you're thinking that I can't resist the urge to gobble down the moment I sighted any durian, you're very wrong. The thing is, I don't eat durians. I even hate the way it smelled. Sometimes it even make me gag.

I can't remember when was the last time I REALLY tasted durian. The last time my mouth or lips had any encounter with durian was the last New Year Eve's night. My beloved aunty bake a durian cake and to give FACE, I haven't any choice but at least have a small piece. And well being the goodie nice little girl I am, I wouldn't say NO right. Its just a so called not very polite thing to do. ( According to the traditional ancient manners, ahemmmmm) And after haven't tasted durian for ages, instead of reminding how good it's supposed to be, it tasted weird. And no, I still hate durian!!

Actually, I wasn't born a person who doesn't eat durian at all. In fact, when I was a kiddo, I used to like durian. Weird hoh.? But since moving to KK, I sort of got put off by it. Don't know why, but just no longer eat nor like the smell. And my parents loves durian. Especially dearest mom who sometimes actually take durian ONLY as a meal. And I'll just hide in my room to prevent from that foul odour. According to Wikipedia, it resemble PIG SHIT smell!!

"" Its odor is best described as pig-shit, turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock. It can be smelled from yards away. Despite its great local popularity, the raw fruit is forbidden from some establishments such as hotels, subways and airports, including public transportation in Southeast Asia.-Richard Sterling (Travel and food writer)

And that odour actually stays quite a while in your mouth. Even if your wash or gargle with water, the bloody sickening odour just doesn't leave like that!! That's quite a trade mark isn't it.? No wonder it's call the king of fruit cos there's no other fruits that leaves behind such a MEMORABLE signature. Even fruits like mangosteen can leave a great deal of red colour in your fingers but those can be wash away in a jiffy. Not like the UNBEARABLE odour that lingers around. Not only in your mouth, its actually the whole damn room or space. I still remember my water bottle smells of durian just because I left it in the kitchen with the lid open after I washed it!! Imagine what a coincidence when my friend drank my water and said it taste greats cos it smells of durian!! Let's not forget the AFTER of consumed durians. The "wonderful fragrance" remake their red carpet appearance after ingested with non other than the famous BURPING process!! One URGHHHHHHHHH and here comes the popular durian gas!! ( It really sucks when someone who just took durian earlier burps in the car. Windows down the instance!! )

Another thing is the famous Hong Kong 臭豆腐 (Smelly Beancurd) When I went to Hong Kong, I didn't get to taste it or even smell it. But my relatives told me that its not hard to find it. Just that my mom doesn't want to because back in few years ago, we came across the real deal. It wasn't cooked which mean its actually raw. And the smell, !@#$%^&*($!@#$%. It actually smelled like the real POO!! I just couldn't understand why people actually can stand to place a similar piece of human ingestion system made cake into their very own mouth.? There must be a reason behind those offensive smell right.? Still, I guess you wouldn't know unless you really encounter it yourself. But seriously, everyone said the same thing. In Hong Kong, you wouldn't miss it if the famous beancurd is around because the "wonderful" smell can reached your nostrils miles away from where it is. IF there is that TOFU stall. The entire street will smelled of it. Can you imagine, a whole street that stinks of poo.? The thought of it makes me gag!!!! YUCK!! But Hongkie thinks otherwise. Go figure!!

Anyway enough about those AROMA. Another 3 more months to linger around before the IPTA ( Institut Pengajian Tinggi Awam) results is announced. Probably around mid June till end of June then we'll get to know our fate. And from next week onwards, I'm starting my new job!! My 3 times a week part time kakak (maid) is going back to her hometown for two months!! And dear mom insisted her not to look for any replacement because Ah Moi Kecil (aka ME) is very free and will fill in the free vacancy!!! Oh dear, lets just hope there's really not that much to do beside my usual chores!!!

Countdown to STPM

Perhaps you would realize that waiting for the results to be announced is much more harder to bear than the exam itself. It's something that you dread so much yet you wish it would be over soon. Somehow it seems that these dreading stuff just never end doesn't it.? After dreading the EXAM day, you're overwhelmed its finally over and at least you have few more months to spare before the results is announced. In other words, another day to dread before it arrives. So here comes the day your results is released, you'll have to wait for another 3 months before you knew you were accepted in any IPTA or not. That's local universities. What a pile of stuffs to wait ain't it.? To sum it up, it's hell of time being wasted in WAITING. What to do, that's the famous and traditional custom living in our boleh land. Hmmmmmmm....

I'm surprised at the amount of pressure and stress I'm feeling and sometimes, perhaps you'll feel that from all these sorts of "I can't wait for it!!" or "I don't wanna see it" or "I'm gonna die", blablabla. You'll still be the first few ones to reach your old school for the dreaded piece of paper that determines another HUGE junction of your pathetic life.

Anyway, I've join as a contributor in a new blog called Malaysia Student. Take a look and give us your high 5 or a hand or whatever. Just a pay visit would you.? Thanks....

19 hours to go..............(pray hard hard hard hard hard)

All time favourite

The Scientist

Come up to meet ya, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need ya
And tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets, and nurse me your questions
Oh lets go back to the start
Running in circles, coming in tails
Heads on a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
And tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start

I love this song very much. Don't know why. It's not the lyrics. Perhaps the tune.?

Granmama and Granpapa

What comes into your mind when you saw a table full of granmama and granpapa all dining together happily.? What about an elderly couple walking hands in hands at the beach at a full moon night?

I was dining with my parents earlier where the next table is occupied by 13 elderly people. Assuming that adding up the age of a pair of them would be 150 years, that whole table would have meant like 975 years lived!! Now that's a huge number. But it's kinda nice. According to the person handling that eating outlet, each of them pay a sum perhaps like 20 or 30 bucks, they can have a pretty nice dinner considering the amount totaled up. Plus, I guess that the event of so many friends being together is awfully nice. Imagine, 55 years later, you dine with your then friends, (I'm not being black hearted but don't you think the chances of you dining with a bunch of old friends you knew since today at more than half a century later is like damn low?)

Anyway, I would love to capture that moment of them. They sound very happy you know, very warming. Hehehe. Sadly I wasn't equipped with a camera nor a phone with camera. Yeah, poor me. Hahaha...

What about granny and grandpa holding hands having a beach night stroll with a full moon.? Haha, not exaggerating, but I've seen it before right in our very own city Kota Kinabalu. It's definitely a sweet scene, but of course, different people will have different views. I've also seen elderly couples holding hands sitting by the sea side with granmama's head lying on granpapa's shoulder. I'm not being mushy and micky but I can't help it but it compared it silently in my brain cells with other granny that's freaking busy staying at home babysitting their grandchildren or great grandchildren. But no matter what, they're all in a same position. At this kinda of age, its best to do what they like most, what they want to do. The old saying, as long as I'm happy, why not.? There's hardly anything to lose right.? Because I'm like 75 years old.? Hahahaha...

This remind me of my maternal (my paternal grandparents has left us) grandparents in Sandakan. Granny is 80 this year, grandpa is 79. About one or two weeks ago, grandpa pays us a surprise visit. Apparently he went to Kuching with his friend. (yes grandpa travels a lot but less now) And his friend en route to KL from Kuching and grandpa decided to pay us visit. As grandpa never arrive alone in KK before from international gate, he was assisted by a nice lady of MAS when he arrived. I've actually waited quite long outside the gate. Hehehe. The next day when he left for Sandakan, the same nice lady assisted grandpa for departure. Since I was holding grandpa's hand like he's my boyfriend, the lady did the same thing. Grandpa smiled, hehehe..

Final Destination 3 @ Disgusting

I went out with some friends for dinner tonight to celebrate my girl friend's birthday. I left early around 8 something to catch a movie (Final Destination 3) with another friend since we made plans already. I didn't watch the first two movie but went to watch somehow since people said its nice. (Never assume what people said its nice really means nice unless you experienced it yourself) That movie was none the less barbaric and disgusting. The story line was okay. Not bad but nothing fancy or meaningful or interesting but the scenes are way too YUCK. The outcome of the movie was like, our precious cerebrum lying safely inside our extremely hard skull is like nothing but a watermelon or a tofu (beancurd) that's being squashed just like that. I'm not someone who's very into horror movies especially those with very unsuccessful horror techniques but still pass as horror movies just because they have the latest most disgusting and ugly scenes aka hottest ghost face or newest way to die barbarously so everyone will remember that scene and it means you remember that movie. How convenient, just like killing two birds with one BLOODY stone.(Puke)

Anyway, I met my friends back in Coffee Bean around 11. Got home around 12, find my mom still awake with the telly (Dearest mom are usually asleep when I got home) and found the dishes unwashed. Yes, it's my chores and my mom is the kinda of person who insist you do your chores even if I wasn't dining at home that night. Chores is chores, you don't skip just because you're too busy "going out" Anyway, so I told her I'll wash the dishes tomorrow morning since its midnight and I wouldn't want to wake my dad up. And the only response I got was Shhhhhh. So I take it as an OKAY regardless if she didn't hear me cos she's with the telly. Didn't care that much.

Then, two hours later, she's done with the telly. Come knocking in my room with a not so happy face and starts her fire why didn't I wash the dishes. So she didn't hear me after all. When I went further to explain that I said I'll wash it tomorrow morning when I wake, she said, Tomorrow morning.? You gonna leave the dishes to one in the afternoon then wash it.? Okay, I got the picture.

So there I was, washing dishes at 2 am in the morning. Silently.

12 more days.............
